Frequently Asked Questions
Stargaze Outdoor Movies delivers energetic and immersive indoor and outdoor media and cinematic experiences to Long Island and the surrounding areas. Below are a handful of frequently asked questions. If you have a question that you don’t see, drop us an email at info@StargazeMovies.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Reservations
Event date reservations are made on a first-come first-served basis and are tentative until a 50% deposit has been secured.
Payment
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due when the contract is signed. The remaining balance is due the day of the event.
*Entertainment Time
Our Movie Packages include the full runtime of a single movie - up to 3 hours of entertainment. Additional time must be arranged beforehand or during the event. Additional time is $99/per hour. You'll have the option of playing music through our sound system during setup and takedown. Our Ultimate Video Game Package includes 3 full hours of entertainment.
Rainout Guarantee & Weather
You may shift event dates due to an inclement weather forecast. Stargaze Outdoor Movies will do our best to accommodate you with an available date. You must call to reschedule at least 3 hours prior to your event start time and/or before our staff has begun traveling to your event. Although we will do our best to put on every scheduled event, Stargaze Outdoor Movies reserves the right to delay or postpone an event due to winds above 15 MPH or inclement weather that threatens our crew or equipment.
Travel Radius
Our warehouse is located in Bohemia, NY. Certain events outside of a 30-mile radius from our warehouse may incur travel fees.
Media Content
Due to licensing and copyright laws, the media source (DVD, Blue-ray, video game, etc.) must be provided by the client. Please no 4K Ultra HD disks.
Do I Need A Movie License?
If you're hosting a private party at your home with only friends and family in attendance, you do NOT need a film license, but you do need to own the entertainment content - DVD, Blue-ray, video game, etc. If you plan on staging a movie night that is open to the public, and/or if tickets will be sold, you WILL need to purchase the appropriate non-theatrical license. We can assist in that process.
Setup Time
Our Event Crew will arrive and begin setting up around 45 minutes to an hour before sundown.
Earliest Start Time
For the best possible viewing experience we suggest starting your entertainment just around sundown. The darker the better. You'll have the option of playing music through our sound system upon initial setup.
Used Stargaze for my daughter’s 13th birthday. They were on time, equipment is new & modern, picture and sound were excellent!! It was like being at a drive-in movie. I will definitely book in the future.

Stargaze Outdoor Movies helped me put on an amazing event! We hosted a very successful community Movie Night in Amityville at the Nautilus Park. They were hands-on throughout the whole process from day one, they helped promotion, event planning and was hands-on at the event from set up to break down. The picture and sound quality of the movie are excellent. No matter where you were in the park you had an amazing seat to enjoy the movie.
All who attended loved the event and have requested to have more movie nights added to our community events. We are already working on booking dates for next year!
